| Key features
Hand-cranked power: An internal low-voltage AC generator provides power, so you never have to worry about running out of batteries. Selectable test voltages: It offers four DC test voltages: 100 V, 250 V, 500 V, and 1000 V. Dual measurement ranges: The MJ159 can measure insulation resistance up to 2,000 MΩ and a lower resistance range up to 5,000 Ω. Guard terminal: A third guard terminal helps to eliminate the effects of surface leakage current from the measurement, ensuring more accurate readings, particularly in damp or dirty conditions. Analog display: The durable analog display with a taut-band suspension is more resistant to extreme temperatures compared to LCD screens, making it suitable for harsh environments. Safety features: When connected to a circuit, the MJ159's AC voltage range will immediately indicate if the circuit is still live, preventing testing on a non-de-energized circuit. After a test on a capacitive circuit (like a long cable), the meter shows when the stored voltage has safely discharged. |
